Science Experiment: Make a Diet Coke+Mentos Rocket

Step 1: Buy several 2-liter bottles of Diet Coke and several rolls of Mentos candy. (It's good to have extras, in case you make a mistake and need to start over, or in case you just want to do it again.) You also need some duct tape and a pair of scissors to cut the tape. (You can use regular clear tape, but it isn't as stiff and doesn't work quite as well.) Finally, find a big open space, such as a playground or driveway, to use as a launching pad.
